The Practice of Fasting | Pastor Ben Dixon
As we begin a new series called “Practices of the Faith”, we are focusing on the spiritual disciplines that
shape how we follow Jesus in everyday life. Fasting is one of the most important and least understood of the practices in Scripture. Fasting is the intentional decision to lay aside food and other things in order to seek God more fully through prayer and dependence. We are beginning this series with fasting because it will help reset our spiritual priorities and create space for God to work in us. Also, as we enter into a season of prayer and fasting for 21 days, I believe that we will receive a renewed hunger, greater focus, and deeper reliance on God as a church family.
