His Power in Our Weakness

Jan 17, 2021    Pastor Ben Dixon

The book of Revelation begins with the apostle John seeing a vision of the glorified Christ that was so powerful he could not remain standing. Through this vision, Jesus gave John a message for the seven prominent churches of Asia Minor that he had a pastoral relationship with.

Jesus had something specific to say to each of the seven churches in addition to the unfolding future events that would be true for all of them. In our passage today, we will read the message that was given to the church at Philadelphia. As you will see, the church was small and seemingly weak but we know that in our weakness the power of Christ can be revealed. This lesson shows us that our impact in this world is not based on our numbers, gifts, or influence but rather it is based on our dependence upon the One who has all power over all things!
