Prophets of Old

In order for us to move toward engaging the prophetic ministry in our world today, we first must understand the prophetic ministry of the past. While I certainly believe that everyone CAN prophesy, as we previously discussed, I want to make it extremely clear that not everyone is a prophet nor does everyone have a prophetic gift. However, I don’t want to simply assume that everyone who reads this book will understand what a prophet is. Therefore, I want to take some time to look at the role and ministry of the prophet starting with the prophets of the Old Testament, whom I refer to as the “prophets of old” (Lk. 1:70).
